Getting Accredited

What You'll Need (CPV Driver Accreditation)

Every taxi driver in Victoria must hold current CPV Driver Accreditation, issued by Safe Transport Victoria (formerly known as CPVV). We'll guide you through it.

Eligibility Basics
  • A full, current Victorian driver licence — or a full Australian/New Zealand licence held for at least 6 months
  • Ability to pass a national police history check
  • Ability to pass a medical self-assessment (fitness to drive)
  • Valid identity documents (birth certificate/passport, Medicare card, etc.)
  • If you've held an interstate licence in the last 6 months, a driving history extract from that state/territory
The Accreditation Process
  1. Apply via the Safe Transport Victoria User Portal
  2. Upload ID documents and a licence-verification selfie
  3. Complete a medical self-assessment
  4. Pass a police history check
  5. Pay the application fee ($76.30 application + $34.00 annual renewal)
  6. Processing takes a minimum of 20 business days
We'll help you through every step of this — you're not doing it alone. Already CPV-accredited? Even better — we can get you on the road faster.
