Avalon vs Melbourne Airport for Surf Coast Travellers
For Surf Coast travellers, Avalon Airport is almost always the better option. It's significantly closer and cheaper than Melbourne Airport for everyone from Torquay to Aireys Inlet. If your airline flies from Avalon (primarily Jetstar domestic), choose Avalon every time.
Melbourne Airport is required if your airline, route or international destination doesn't operate from Avalon. Both airports are covered equally by our service.
Tips for Surf Coast Airport Transfers
- Always pre-book — Surf Coast locations can be 45–75 minutes from the airports. Timing needs to be planned carefully, especially for early flights.
